Mirror’s Edge TV Show in the Works

Endemol Shine Studios, the production studio behind the hit reality TV shows Master Chef and The Biggest Loser, have purchased the TV rights to Mirror's Edge, according to Deadline.

The acclaimed video game series by EA DICE stars a runner named Faith Connors who uses her parkour skills to deliver messages in a futuristic dystopian society. As such, the adaptation of this series will focus on the female protagonist as she attempts to thwart the ruling Conglomerate.

Sharon Hall, President of Endemol Shine Studios, believes that Mirror's Edge is "a franchise for the global TV audience" given that it has "a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand."

This looks like a series that would work very well on Netflix or another streaming service; that is, if this TV show comes to fruition at all. We'll have to see how, err, faithful this scripted TV series will be in casting the roles from the video game.
